This week President Trump Russian Hookers Golden Shower CIA Scam

This week Wednesday Jan 10, CIA, 4chan, reddit, CNN, and Buzzfeed spread rumour of Putin taping golden showers in Moscow Ritz Carlton bed where Bob Amo had slept, then blackmailed Trump into running for president and also winning, all a communist plot by the Russians.  Clapper, head of Bob Amo's CIA, sent letter of apology to President Trump on Thursday Jan 11.

From Rush:

RUSH: I’m trying to take this complexity and make it as simple as I can so people can get their arms around it.  There are two websites involved in this, aside from the intelligence community.  One is called 4chan, the numeral 4, c-h-a-n, the other is Reddit.  They are completely separate entities, completely different websites.  They have common users, but they are two different websites.

There is a politically incorrect forum on the 4chan website where this kind of stuff starts.  These are pranksters and storytellers and they try to one-up each other with fake news and funny stories and satire and parody.  And it is said that this report originated at 4chan.  Somebody wrote it up and summarized it and sent it to Rick Wilson, who is a noted anti-Trumper. I forget who he worked for during the campaign. Wilson then wrote up his own summary of it and gave it to the CIA.
The CIA accepted it and began looking into it and another summary of it was written, and at some point both Obama and Trump were briefed on it.
Now, because of this, because there was an intelligence briefing where both Obama and Trump were told of this story, news media outlets said, “Well, it’s news then. If Trump’s been briefed on it, for crying out loud, we’re gonna run it.” BuzzFeed and CNN figured, “Hell, we’ll run with it.”  It turns out no less than NBC is reporting that Trump was not briefed on this salacious series of details, that he was shown this memo, which alleged links between his campaign and Russia, among the urinating on the bed story. There were other examples of Trump pervert type behavior that would make him subject to blackmail by Putin.
They show this to Trump.  They show this to Obama.  The news media reads that the CIA briefed Trump and Obama, they figure it’s serious news then.  But it turns out that Trump was not briefed on it as something that actually happened.  It turns out that the CIA gave this to Trump as an example of the kind of disinformation that is out there.  They gave it to him as somewhat of an educational thing, as an example of disinformation.  They did have a briefing with him and they showed him this, but they told him it’s an example of disinformation.
They did not tell him that it was real.  If he had been told it was real and if Obama had been told it was real, believe me, we would have heard about this long before last night.  If anything in this had ever been real.  And you must understand that journalists from around the world have been chasing down the elements of this intel report for almost a year.  And they haven’t been able to confirm one thing in it.  And that’s why it was never used.
Now, the Daily Beast example.  Headline:  “4chan Claims It Invented the Trump Golden Showers Story.” The golden shower story is the prostitutes being hired to urinate on the bed in a hotel that Barack and Michelle Obama had slept in the previous visit.  “As news broke of an unverified document detailing supposed Russian dirt on President-elect Donald Trump — including sordid allegations involving urine and prostitutes in Russia — users on the subreddit The_Donald and 4chan’s forum took a victory lap. Not because they found the story funny, but because they claim they planted it as a fake.”
So people at both Reddit and 4chan are doing happy dances out there ’cause they totally made this up and made the CIA accept it as real and start conducting investigations.  Now, the way to translate this is the anti-Trumpsters at The Daily Beast want to believe that these unsourced and unverified stories are actually true.  But the 4chan people and Reddit people say that they’re not true, we made this all up, we can’t believe how gullible you people are.
I can.  I can believe it’s all made up, and I can believe they fell for it.  This is the establishment, this is how they operate.  They hate Trump. They despise Trump. You can’t overestimate how much he is hated by official Washington.  Folks, you cannot, and they will not stop trying to destroy him.  They will not stop in their efforts to make sure he does not succeed in anything.
So the Daily Beast reports here that the 4chan website bragged that they planted this story, they don’t like it, and they added “the evidence supporting the denial is very thin.”  So mind you here, the evidence of the underlying story is nonexistent.  There is no evidence to support one shred of this.
So in the insane world of the left, the evidence disproving an unproven allegation is subjected to a higher standard of proof than the bogus allegation itself.  This is mind-numbingly insane that we find ourselves in the middle of here.  Thank God you people have me to explain this and sort it out for you.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH:  We’re gonna find out this dossier was generated as part of opposition research by anti-Trump Republicans, a guy named Rick Wilson, keep that name in mind.  I’ll tell you what this is, folks.  This is the next version of Bill Burkett and phony documents to Dan Rather at the Texas National Guard to get George W. Bush.  It’s exactly what this is.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Folks, I still have quite a lot to see here.  This is big, what they tried to do here today. They tried to take Donald Trump out last night. A combination of the intelligence agencies and the media tried to take Donald Trump out, and he just flattened them.  They are all now in meltdown.  CNN’s in meltdown.  I’ll tell you, there’s another name involved in this that I failed to mention, and I want to do that now.  A central figure in this is Senator John McCain.  Senator John McCain was deeply involved in passing these documents off to the FBI along with a Republican campaign operative by the name of Rick Wilson.
McCain passed them off to the FBI. Wilson passed them off to the CIA.  McCain actually called Comey on this and said, “Hey, there’s something you want to know, something Trump did! It’s horrible. It’s despicable. They’re stand…”  It’s just pathetic.  Now McCain is issuing statements trying to distance himself, saying he had no idea if any of this is true or not.  Well, that’s what CNN is saying.  “Well, we didn’t know if it was true.”  For crying out loud, you people in media, this start tick me off.  They have known for months there was nothing to this story.
You wanted to run this story all last summer, all during the fall.  They wanted to run this story. They desperately looked for evidence to find that this story was true, and there isn’t any, because if there had been they would have found it; we’d have heard about it before last night.  So what happened, CNN decides to run the story anyway as a, “You wouldn’t believe what’s out there” kind of story. “You wouldn’t believe what’s out there, folks. We’ve been trying to run this down.  But we’re not gonna tell you what’s in it ’cause we can’t verify any of it.”
That signaled BuzzFeed.  BuzzFeed was next in the news chain. After CNN, led by Jake Tapper, alludes to the story yesterday afternoon, BuzzFeed then says (summarized), “Oh, we’ll publish the whole memo! We’ll publish all 35 pages,” and they did, and they issued caveat after caveat. They said there’s nothing to it. There’s no verification. We can’t find any evidence whatsoever, but, man, is it serious! You make up your own mind. So they published the whole thing, and then that begot reactions to it and the reactions were multifaceted.
You could tell blog by blog who hoped it to be true, who wanted it to be true, who held out possibilities it was true.  Others, like John Podhoretz, slammed it for what it is:  The most pathetic descent into unprofessionalism in his experience for the Drive-By Media.  And that’s exactly what this is.  They are so desperate, they are so ineffective with Trump, they are so at their wits’ end.  Every bit of technique and ammunition that they have been able to use any time they want to destroy anybody (usually Republicans), doesn’t work on Donald Trump and so they don’t know what to do.
So they keep ratcheting it up. They keep trying what they think are even more powerful examples of the same type of thing.  Now, I mentioned before the break at the top of the hour that there is something out there that happened that’s very, very close to this, and that is, remember this guy Bill Burkett that Dan Rather and Mary Mapes at CBS found? This guy was lurking around Texas, hanging around in obscure, dark corners. He claimed to have official documents from a commander at the Texas Air National Guard that George W. Bush got the guard position because he was a coward.
And his daddy got him the point to the National Guard and Bush never showed up. And so Dan Rather gets these documents from Bill Burkett and they run a story on it, and it turns out it’s totally false. It’s made up. It isn’t true.  Dan Rather gets fired.  Mary Mapes gets fired.  The media has an awards dinner for Dan Rather, because the media realized that if they allow this to stick, it would damage all of them.  I’ll never forget this.  They actually created some new award, they had a dinner, and they awarded some lifetime journalism thing for Dan Rather after this episode.
Mary Mapes got blown out. Burkett’s nowhere to be found.  Here’s the difference:  All during that episode, George W. Bush said not a word.  Karl Rove said not a word.  Nobody in the Republican Party said a word.  Donald Trump comes out first having some people react to it last night; then Trump does a press conference today (previously scheduled) and nukes it, destroys it. Story over. Drive-By Media embarrassed. Media now melting down, running away from the story claiming, “Hey, hey! It was legit! We didn’t say anything specific. We just told people that it was the seriousness of the charges. Some very, very bad stuff potentially out there.
“We didn’t do anything! We didn’t do anything. You can’t prove anything. We didn’t do it. We didn’t do it.”  They’re melting down, they’re running away from it, all because Trump had the evidence to blow this through the moon, through sky-high, and it’s a beautiful thing to watch.  But it’s going to continue.  As I say, what is new here is the involvement of the intelligence communities.  That’s something that we haven’t seen. The media do this and their sources have been many and varied, but we actually appear to have active participation by politicized elements of the intelligence community joining with the media trying to destroy Donald Trump and his presidency.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Here is Andy in Boca Raton.  Many people mispronounce this, think it’s Boca Raton.  It isn’t.  It’s Boca Raton.  Anyway, great to have you, Andy.  How you doing?
CALLER:  Thanks for taking my call, Rush.  Many mega dittos to you.  Thanks for recapping last night’s speech.  I wasn’t gonna waste 51 minutes of my time.
RUSH: (chuckling) Yes.
CALLER: You summed it up in about two-and-a-half minutes.  So thank you very much.
RUSH: You bet.
CALLER:  I want to wish you a happy birthday.  I know it’s coming up in a couple of days. My present to you, sir, is coming on the 20th when they remove the “elect” from President-Elect Donald Trump.
RUSH: (chuckling) I’m glad you —
CALLER: I just wanted to ask you a couple quick questions. One: If it ever did come out that the Russians never hacked the election, will the Drive-By Media ever stop pursuing that?
RUSH:  No, they won’t.
CALLER:  They won’t?
RUSH:  No.
CALLER:  Number two: Can Donald Trump say anything to prevent them from ever asking that question again?
RUSH:  I think at some point it’s gonna be replaced by something else, but the premise behind it will never go away.  The attempt to discredit or destroy Trump’s victory and then presidency is something that they are going to be a long time letting go of.  Not only is it a stratagem and not only is it a technique, they really believe it, Andy.  This is the thing about leftists.  They really believe — some of them — that climate change is destroying the planet.  They really believe that the Russians hacked the election.  Now, let me break this down a bit.
I do believe that at the upper echelon of liberalism where they strategize this stuff, I think these people know that it’s all BS.  But their rank-and-file eats it up as verbatim. The people on the protest March — the average, ordinary leftist Democrat showing up to vote, 90% of the media — they believe it. They literally believe that Trump benefited from Putin hacking the election and they believe that happened because they think so Putin would rather see Trump because now they think Putin has stuff on Trump they can blackmail him with.
Because they can’t intellectually understand the country rejecting Hillary Clinton.  They are that out of touch.  They cannot… They can’t come… They think these last eight years have been the road to nirvana, and they can’t understand the American people rejecting this. So it has to be some trickery, and they’re not gonna let go of it until they have something else to replace it.  Four years from now, eight years from now.
They are going to continue to say and try to persuade as many people in the public as possible that Trump’s illegitimate.  That’s all they’ve got.  All they’ve got is whatever technique they can come up with to delegitimize the Trump win.  Same thing with George W. Bush after the Florida recount in 2000.  They just… They don’t accept reality.  Remember, to understand ’em, to them there is no reality.  Reality is just what we build and construct to exclude them.  I’m glad you called.  I appreciate those questions.  I really do.

...............

RUSH: One more little detail on this entire bogus Trump story. Which, again, the big thing in the Trump story: The golden showers. This is Trump hiring prostitutes to come to the hotel room, the presidential suite, hotel room in Moscow and to urinate on the bed because Barack Obama and Michelle Obama slept in the bed, and it was a way that Trump in a childish way wanted to disrespect them and get even with them. For what, I don’t know.  That’s one of the things alleged that there’s no evidence for and they can’t find any — and they won’t because it didn’t happen.
Now, what’s behind this — the reason the media is all hot to trot for it and the intelligence agencies — again it goes back to Russian hacking.  The media, again, and the establishment are just beside themselves that Hillary lost.  They can’t explain it to themselves.  It doesn’t compute.  Trump should have gotten no more than 20% of the vote.  They lived the entire campaign ignoring the polls and thinking that Trump was no threat and that Hillary was a goddess and was going to win in an electoral landslide.
It didn’t happen, and so it has to be because of some outside force. It has to be some suspicious outside force.  It can’t be that they ran a lousy campaign.  It can’t be that the eight years of Obama told the American people they don’t want anymore of this crap.  It can’t be that Hillary was a lousy candidate.  It can’t be that Hillary didn’t even campaign in states because she was so confident she was gonna win ’em.  It can’t be that they didn’t know what they were doing.  And it can’t be that Donald Trump was accepted and supported by so many people, because he’s such a reprobate.
So it had to be the Russians! The Russians had to hack the election.  They will not let go of it.  And this story from BuzzFeed and CNN last night, intelligence agencies, was helped to be spread by John McCain and another Republican political operative by the name of Rick Wilson.  It’s all rooted in the belief that the reason Trump will not say anything bad about Putin is because all this stuff is true and the Russians are able to blackmail Trump because they’ve got all of this information of perverted behavior by Trump.
It’s all part of their belief that the Russians hacked the election and caused Hillary to lose.  So they’re living that delusion.  It is part of them.  They have intellectually and emotionally accepted that that’s why they lost, and they’re living that lie.  It has become their reality.  So all of this, anything that comes along that supports that belief — and this would accomplish it because this is what Putin has over Trump. This is why Trump will not come out and be critical of Putin.  The report was put out by the CIA to finally answer the question, “Why on earth would the Russians want Trump over Hillary?”
See, the people that are upset by this can’t imagine that the Russians would prefer Trump, because Hillary’s such a superior candidate. She’s so much more serious as a person. She’s a great diplomat. She’s got a relationship with them! They can’t accept that Putin would try to ruin Hillary’s chance.  So this report was put out by the CIA to answer the question: Why on earth would the Russians want Trump over Hillary?  We’re supposed to think it’s because Trump would be easy to blackmail.  You know where this falls apart (chuckles) is if anybody’s blackmailable, it’s Hillary!  If anybody’s server was hacked, it was Hillary’s!
If anybody’s server was hacked, it was the Democrat National Committee.  If anybody cheated anybody on the election, it was Hillary cheating Bernie Sanders.  The degree to which the left and the Democrats are living a lie is dangerous, folks.  It is psychologically dangerous, and they have now incorporated elements of the intelligence agencies to join them in this myth, in this delusion.  I told you, I said way back… You remember when Trump first went to the White House to meet with Obama, and Trump came out of there?

It was a 15-minute meeting that went an hour and a half, and Trump came out singing Obama’s praises. He was talking about how nice Obama was and how much he liked Obama. He was shocked and surprised. He liked Obama, and Obama had promised him that he would help him, whatever he needed in both the transition and in his new presidency.  And I had all kinds of you emailing me and calling here, “Oh, no! Don’t tell me it’s the same old thing. Don’t know tell me Trump… Oh, no, don’t tell me Trump’s siding with Obama.”
I said, “No, it’s not that. This is what it is.  We live right now in a precariously dangerous time.  We have a Democrat Party and a narcissistic president who have been surprisingly vanquished — humiliatingly, repudiatedly defeated.  Obama campaigned on his agenda and he was told to take a hike.”  It was a personal political repudiation of Barack Obama and his policies.  I said, “Trump knows how dangerous a time this is, because there are two months between it and Trump’s inauguration, and the people who were just humiliated and the people that were just repudiated and just lost still control the levers of power for two more months.”
I said, “Make sure that you keep that in mind whenever you see Trump saying or doing anything that doesn’t look like it makes sense to you,” and I give you that as another example here today, explaining what’s going on.  It is dangerous out there.  We’ve got another week, folks.  We have a… I don’t know that I’ve accurately described this, how dangerously delusional, close to on the brink of sanity the establishment of Washington is, primarily the Democrats and the media.  I mean, you talk about repudiation? The media, in their minds, they’re the ones that run the establishment!
They determine who succeeds and who doesn’t.  They’re able to destroy anyone they want with one story, with one raised eyebrow on the evening news.  They’re used to being able to destroy anybody, and they haven’t needed evidence. They just need the charge, just an allegation, just innuendo.  And they’ve thrown everything they have at Trump throughout the campaign.  They’ve had assistance from that Inside Hollywood Access video or whatever it was, all those different elements.
Every different thing that was supposed to destroy Trump and would have destroyed any other Republican, Trump not only survives, he actually grows more powerful after surviving each one of these attacks.  And they’re beside themselves.  They are now, in their minds, in their world, they are a week away, seven days, eight days, whatever, away — well, nine — from losing everything.  They’re nine, 10 days away from absolute Purgatory.  Their world is upside down.  Every tactic and technique at their disposal to protect themselves, to destroy their enemies, is ineffective.  They think they’ve got nuclear weapons.

Shadilay

[–]JohnMiltonJamesJoyce 11 points 1 day ago
Get ready for a lovely bit of surrealism.
DP
Pepe is a character from an indie comic that evolved into an internet meme popular on 2/4/8chan, especially on 4 and 8 chan's /pol/ boards. The joke is that Pepe is the incarnation of the egyptian Chaos god "Kek" (also spelled keku, kuk), who is represented as a frog. (wiki here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kek_(mythology). It was joked that he was the patron of President Elect donald trump
So in a half joking way, 4chan will always be interested in escoteric memery regarding the frog.
One day, someone found a vinyl record. It was an Italian pop song called Shadilay, made by an Italian artist named Pepe. The album art was a frog with a magic wand, similar to portrayals of the fake-god Pepe.

"kek" came from World of Warcraft. When a horde player types "lol" in chat, it comes out as "kek" to alliance players. This itself was a reference to how koreans type the sound of laughter as "kekeke".
Using "kek" instead of "lol" was mostly a sleeper meme, though it gained prominence in the last few years. Then, someone found a brand of pastries named "top kek" and it was catapulted to popularity.
Meanwhile, Pepe the frog gained prominence as a meme. The character was created by Matt Furie for a comic named Boys' Club. 4chan adopted him to use in reaction images, first with the "feels good man" variant, which was pulled straight from one of Furie's comics. Edits appeared, then Pepe spread beyond the chans and people got mad and spawned the poo poo pee pee meme. Regardless, Pepe reaction images became widespread, around the same time as kek gained prominence as a replacement for lol.
This is where memetics began appearing. Someone found out about Kuk, also known as Kek, an Egyptian deity, which took the appearance of a frog. Better yet, a "prophecy of Kek" looked suspiciously like a man sitting in front of a computer monitor. People began digging and found out that he's the bringer of light, learned about "meme magic", and the whole thing just kind of fell together.
Basically, people felt that it wasn't a coincidence that we started going "kek" and posting about a frog at the same time. Combine it with the general feeling that things are going to shit and that we need a leader to bring us out of the darkness, and...
Now, Shadilay. Just to add to the madness, someone found out about a song from the 80's. It's from an artist named Pepe. There is a frog on the disc. The lyrics are about the strange nature of the universe. It's named Shadilay.
This whole thing is no coincidence if you ask me. It's synchronicity. Patterns re-emerging due to the collective unconscious. And it's fascinating.

Top Minds have limited contacts

Terry Tao falls down rabbit hole:

In logic, there is a subtle but important distinction between the concept of mutual knowledge – information that everyone (or almost everyone) knows – and common knowledge, which is not only knowledge that (almost) everyone knows, but something that (almost) everyone knows that everyone else knows (and that everyone knows that everyone else knows that everyone else knows, and so forth).

Scott Aaronson jumps in:

“daddy, in the Good Days, the days before the War of the Small-Hands Insult, the days when there was plentiful food and water and Internet, didn’t you have what used to be called a ‘blog’?  Then why didn’t you speak out on this blog, why didn’t you do whatever tiny amount you could to prevent this?”

John Mayall Rialto June 17

From Rialto:

The Rialto Theatre Presents
JOHN MAYALL
Roman Barten-Sherman and The Interstellar Blues Orchestra
JUN17

John MayallJOHN MAYALL
John MayallFor over 50 years, John Mayall has served as a pioneer of blues music, rightly earning him the title, "The Godfather of British Blues." In 2013, John signed with producer Eric Corne's label, Forty Below Records, and has since been experiencing a true artistic and career renaissance.

This revival continues with the release of a brilliant new studio album titled ‘Find a Way to Care’, produced by John and Eric at famed House of Blues Studios in Encino, California. About the new album, Corne says, "I really wanted to feature John's keyboard playing on this record. He's truly one of the most lyrical, economical and underrated keyboardists around. We also wanted to change things up a bit after the success of "A Special Life" and the addition of a horn section on several tracks was a really fun way to do that. As good as the last album was, I think this one is even better."

On the new album, John adds harmonica on two songs, as well as a classic guitar track reminiscent of Hubert Sumlin or Muddy Waters on the latter's legendary "Long Distance Call." He is joined by his killer touring band: Rocky Athas (guitar), Greg Rzab (bass) and Jay Davenport (drums). The release of "Find a Way to Care" comes on the heels of Mayall's internationally-acclaimed, "A Special Life" in released in 2014. "I'd easily put this one among Mayall's best efforts - and that includes 'Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton,' 'A Hard Road' and 'Blues from Laurel Canyon!'" (about.com)

Earlier this year, John and Forty Below thrilled the blues world with the release of the historical Bluesbreakers album, ‘Live In 1967’, featuring the three original members of Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. "Sunken treasure doesn't get much better" (Classic Rock Magazine). A second set is slated for a 2016 release.

John Mayall was born on the 29th of November 1933 and grew up in a village not too far from Manchester, England. It was here as a teenager that he first became attracted to jazz and blues 78s in his father's record collection. Initially it was all about guitarists such as Lonnie Johnson, Brownie McGhee, Josh White and Leadbelly. However once he heard the sounds of boogie woogie piano giants Albert Ammons, Pete Johnson and Meade Lux Lewis, his desire to play in that style was all he could think of. At the age of 14 when he went to Manchester's Junior School of Art, he had access to a piano for the first time and he began to learn the basics of this exciting music. He also found time to continue learning the guitar and a couple of years later, the harmonica, inspired by Sonny Terry, Sonny Boy Williamson and Little Walter.

After his two years at art school, he joined the art department of a major department store while starting to build up his own record collection that was to be his source of inspiration to play the blues. At age eighteen when he was due for National Service he spent three years in the Royal Engineers as an office clerk in the south of England and in Korea all the time playing whenever he got a chance. As no-one seemed to be interested in this type of music, John felt pretty much of an outsider throughout his twenties until 1962 when the news broke in the British music magazine Melody Maker that Alexis Korner and Cyril Davies had opened a club in Ealing devoted to blues music. After Britain's ten year traditional jazz boom had about run its course, a new generation was ready for something new. Out came the amplifiers, guitars and harmonicas and out came young enthusiasts from all over the country eager to sit in and form their own groups.

This was all the encouragement thirty-year old John needed and, giving up his graphic design job, he moved from Manchester to London and began putting musicians together under the banner of the Bluesbreakers. Although things were rough at first, the music quickly took off thanks to the popularity of the Rolling Stones, Georgie Fame, Manfred Mann, The Animals and Spencer Davis with a young Steve Winwood. John also backed blues greats John Lee Hooker, T-Bone Walker, and Sonny Boy Williamson on their first English club tours.

After a couple of years and many personnel changes, Eric Clapton quit the Yardbirds and John quickly offered him the job as his new guitarist. Although John had previously released a couple of singles and a live LP for Decca, the now classic collaboration between Eric and John resulted in the all-time best-selling classic album, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers featuring Eric Clapton. However, by the time it was entering the charts, Clapton and bassist Jack Bruce had left to form Cream. So began a succession of future stars who would define their roots under John's leadership before leaving to form their own groups. Peter Green, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood became Fleetwood Mac. Andy Fraser formed Free, and Mick Taylor joined the Rolling Stones.

In 1969, with his popularity blossoming in the USA, John caused somewhat of a stir with the release of a drummer-less acoustic live album entitled The Turning Point, from which his song, "Room To Move" was destined to become a rock classic. He received a gold record for this album. Attracted by the West Coast climate and culture, John then made his permanent move from England to Laurel Canyon in Los Angeles and began forming bands with American musicians. Throughout the '70s, John became further revered for his many jazz/rock/blues innovations featuring such notable performers as Blue Mitchell, Red Holloway, Larry Taylor, and Harvey Mandel.

In 1982, motivated by nostalgia and fond memories, John decided to re-form the original Bluesbreakers. Mick Fleetwood was unavailable at the time so John hired drummer Colin Allen to join with John McVie and Mick Taylor for a couple of tours and a video concert film entitled Blues Alive. Featured greats were Albert King, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells and Etta James. By the time Mick and John had returned to their respective careers, public reaction had convinced Mayall that he should honor his driving blues roots. In Los Angeles, he selected his choices for a new incarnation of the Bluesbreakers. Officially launched in 1984, it included future stars in their own right, guitarists Coco Montoya and Walter Trout.

Throughout the eighties and nineties, John's popularity went from strength to strength with a succession of dynamic albums such as Behind The Iron Curtain, Chicago Line, A Sense of Place, and the Grammy-nominated Wake Up Call that featured guest artists Buddy Guy, Mavis Staples, Albert Collins and Mick Taylor.

In 1993, Texas guitarist Buddy Whittington joined the Bluesbreakers and for the next ten years energized the band with his unique and fiery ideas. Making his recording debut on Mayall's Spinning Coin album, he proved to be more than equal to following in the footsteps of his illustrious predecessors. Other modern classics followed. Blues For the Lost Days and Padlock On The Blues, the latter co-produced by John and his wife Maggie, featured a rare collaboration with his close friend John Lee Hooker. On Along For The Ride, Mayall re-teamed with a number of his former mates, including Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, as well as ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, Steve Miller, Billy Preston, Steve Cropper, Otis Rush, Gary Moore and Jeff Healey. The younger generation was well represented by teenage guitar sensations Shannon Curfman and Jonny Lang. In 2002, Stories debuted the Billboard blues charts at #1.

At a 70th Birthday celebration in aid of UNICEF in Liverpool, a concert was filmed, recorded and released as a DVD and double CD in December 2003. Along with the Bluesbreakers, it featured old friends Eric Clapton, Mick Taylor and Chris Barber. The BBC also aired an hour-long documentary on John's life and career entitled The Godfather of British Blues and to coincide with the release of Road Dogs in 2005, John was awarded an OBE by The Queen's Honours list. In the Spring of 2007, John Mayall's 56th album release, In The Palace Of The King, was an entire studio album that honored and paid tribute to the music of Mayall's long-time hero of the blues, Freddie King. All garnered great reviews, critical and popular acclaim and represent Mayall's ongoing mastery of the blues and his continuing importance in contemporary music.

In addition, over the last ten years, Mayall released live recordings on his own online label, Private Stash Records. (Some still available from his website johnmayall.com. They included Time Capsule (containing historic 1957-62 live tapes), UK Tour 2K, (from a 2000 British tour), Boogie Woogie Man, (a selection of solo performances), Cookin' Down Under, (a live DVD from Australia) No Days Off, (another British live show) and a 3 volume set of Historic Live Shows.

By October 2008, the years of heavy touring were beginning to take their toll on John and he reluctantly announced his decision to take an indefinite break and permanently retire the name "Bluesbreakers." It was a sad occasion to say farewell to Buddy and the guys after twenty years of great music and camaraderie but things had reached another turning point. This caused quite a stir in blues circles and led to rumors about total retirement. Happily for the fans, early in 2009 Eagle Records called upon John to come up with a new album. Feeling much revived after months away from music, he put together a new band for the project.

A few years ago, Buddy Whittington had introduced John to a fellow Texas guitarist, Rocky Athas and he recalled how impressed he'd been at the time. Luckily he answered the call and was eager to come on board for the proposed album. With the need for a rhythm section of dynamic strength, John turned to bassist Greg Rzab who recommended his fellow Chicagoan Jay Davenport on drums. Finally, the three guys were put together with keyboardist Tom Canning and within two days of meeting up in Los Angeles, the album Tough was in the can. It had taken all of three days in the studio and ever since its release and a growing schedule of world tours, a new era was born. Soon after its release Tom left to pursue other projects.

A leaner four piece line-up gave John more room to stretch out as an instrumentalist and the band's chemistry hit new heights.
For the next five years (and counting) John and the band continue to tour extensively. After being invited to do a guest spot on Walter Trout's latest album, John met engineer/producer Eric Corne. John was so impressed that he asked Eric to record his new album ‘A Special Life’, Greg, Jay and Rocky flew in for the sessions which took less than a week to record and the end result is one of John's best albums ever, with it's deep devotion to blues and roots music. The album was released May 13, 2014 to rave reviews, followed by an extensive 80th Birthday Celebration Tour of North America, Europe and The UK.

Following up on ‘A Special Life’ and the 2015 releases, ‘Find A Way To Care’ and ‘Live in 1967’, Forty Below Records plans to release ‘Live In 1967 Volume II’ in 2016, and a new studio album is also in the works.
Today, John can safely say he’s never been happier with his band and career and the road continues.
